  • Fire Restrictions

There are currently Stage 1 fire restrictions in place on the Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests and Pawnee National Grassland on four of our districts. During Stage 1 fire restrictions, open fires are only permitted within Forest Service installed and maintained fire rings and picnic grills within highly developed recreation areas and campgrounds that are maintained by a host. Visitors outside of these sites may use stoves and heating devices solely fueled by liquid or gas and featuring an on/off switch. Please see the links below for more specific information.

    Stage 1 Fire Restrictions:

There are currently no fire restrictions in place on the Pawnee National Grassland. As always, fully extinguish all campfires and heat sources prior to leaving them unattended where allowed. Drown the fire with water, stir to fully soak embers, and repeat until the fire is cold to the touch.

Some areas of National Forest have restrictions year-round prohibiting campfires. Follow posted signage indicating these areas.
