Forest Order
Pursuant to Title 16 U.S.C. § 551, and Title 36, C.F.R. § 261.50 (a), the following acts are prohibited on a portion of National Forest System lands within the Clear Creek Ranger District of the Arapaho National Forest located in T. 4 S., R. 72 W., Sections 15, 22 and 23, 6th Principle Meridian, Clear Creek County, State of Colorado, hereinafter referred to as the Restricted Area. The Restricted Area is further defined as the Old Squaw Pass Trailhead - Beaver Brook Watershed from the Old Squaw Pass Trailhead, west one mile to the intersection of the Beaver Brook Trail and the North Beaver Brook Road depicted on the attached map, hereby incorporated into this Order as Exhibit A.
PROHIBITED ACTS: 1. Camping within the restricted area. 36 C.F.R. § 261.58(e) 2. Building, attending, maintaining, or using a campfire within the restricted area. 36 C.F.R. § 261.52(a) 3. Discharging a firearm, air rifle or gas gun, including paintball guns, except for persons possessing a valid Colorado hunting license lawfully involved in hunting and harvesting game. 36 C.F.R. § 261.58(m) 4. Possessing a dog except for; a) on a leash 6 feet or less in length, b) in a designated off leash area, c) working stock dogs, d) dogs being used for legal hunting purposes, and e) a seeing eye dog or other work dog used to assist with disabilities. 36 C.F.R. § 261.58(s)
EXEMPTIONS: Pursuant to 36 CFR § 261.50(e), the following persons are exempt from this Order: 1. Persons with a Forest Service permit specifically authorizing the otherwise prohibited act or omission. 2. Any Federal, State or local officer, or member of an organized rescue or firefighting force in the performance of an official duty. This Order shall remain in effect until rescinded.
