Forest Order
Pursuant to Title16, United States Code, Section 551, 36 C.F.R., Section 261.S0(a), the following act is prohibited on National Forest System lands within the following areas of Canyon Lakes Ranger District of the Arapaho National Forest, Larimer County, State of Colorado and Clear Creek Ranger District, Roosevelt National Forest, Clear Creek County State of Colorado, hereinafter referred to as the Restricted Areas. The Restricted Areas are defined as the following and depicted on the attached map, hereby incorporated into this Order as Exhibit A. This Order is necessary for the protection of public health and safety.
Canyon Lakes Ranger District
- Greyrock Trail and Greyrock Meadow Trail: within¼ mile of National Forest System Trail (NFST) 946 and NFST 947 from Colorado Highway 14 to the end of the trail
- Stove Prairie Road (County Road 27): National Forest System (NFS) land within¼ mile of Larimer County Road 27 from Colorado Highway 14 south to the National Forest boundary
- Buckhorn Canyon Road (CR 44H): NFS land within¼ mile of Larimer County Road 44H from National Forest boundary west to the junction with NFSR 100.
- Christie Meadows: T SN, R 72W, Section 14, in the parking area and within¼ mile of the parking area
- Elk Meadows Road: NFS land within¼ mile of Larimer County Road 47 from Colorado Highway 36 to the end of the road.
Clear Creek Ranger District
- Barbour Fork Trailhead: T 4S, R 73W, SW¼ Section 10 within¼ mile of the trailhead
PROHIBITED ACT:
- Discharging a firearm. 36 C.F.R. 261.58 (m).
EXEMPTIONS:
Pursuant to 36 C.F.R. Section 261.S0(e), the following persons are exempt from this Order:
- Persons with a USDA Forest Service permit specifically authorizing the otherwise prohibited act or omission.
- Any Federal, State or local officer or member of any organized rescue or firefighting force engaged in the performance of an official duty.
- Any person possessing a valid Colorado hunting license lawfully involved in hunting and harvesting game.
Any person using a paintball gun.
This Order will be in effect when signed and shall remain in effect until rescinded.
