Forest Order

For the purpose of ensuring enjoyment by all visitors and protecting and preserving the wilderness environment from the adverse cumulative impacts due to repeated use, we are issuing the following orders: Pursuant to 36 CFR 261.50 (a), the following acts are prohibited within the Never Summer Wilderness, Arapaho & Roosevelt National Forests, and Routt National Forest, until further notice: 1. Camping within 100 feet of any lake, stream or Forest Development Trail. 36 CFR 261.58 (e) 2. Building, maintaining, attending, or using a campfire within 100 feet of any lake, stream or Forest Development Trail. 36 CFR 261.52 (a). 3. To possess (except for watering or through travel) hobbled, picketed or loose herd livestock, or allow to graze any riding or pack animal within 100 feet of any lake, stream, or Forest Development Trail. 36 CFR 261.58 (s) & 261.57 (e). 4. Within 1/2 mile of Parika Lake, building, maintaining, or using a campfire, other than in a selfcontained chemical stove.36 CFR 261.52 (a). 5. Entering or being in the area with groups larger than a combination of 15 people and livestock, with the maximum number of people being 10. 36 CFR 261.58 (f). 6. Possessing or using a wagon, cart, or other vehicle. 36 CFR 261.57 (h). 7. Possessing a dog or other animal which is not under control to prevent harassment or disturbance of wildlife, people or their property. 36 CFR 261.58 (s). 8. Possessing or transporting unprocessed plant material such as hay, straw, or other unprocessed livestock feed for bedding, feeding, or other uses. 36 CFR 261.58 (t). 

Pursuant to 36 CFR 261.50 (e), the following persons are exempt from the order: 1. Persons with a permit specifically authorizing the otherwiseprohibited act or omission. Order No. 10-00-06 Page 2 of 2 2. Any Federal, State, or local officer, or member of an organized rescue or firefighting force in the performance of an official duty.
