Forest Order
Pursuant to 16 U.S.C. § 551, and 36 CFR 261.50(a) and (b), the following acts are prohibited on National Forest System (NFS) lands within the Boulder Ranger District of the Arapaho and Roosevelt National Forests, Boulder County, Colorado, described below and depicted on the attached maps incorporated into this Order as Exhibits A and B (the “Restricted Areas”). The purpose of this Order is to protect public health and safety and natural resources.
RESTRICTED AREA: • NFS lands within ¼ mile of either side of Rainbow Lakes Road (Sections 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 33, 34, 35, Township 1 North, Range 73 West, 6th P.M.), excluding Rainbow Lakes Campground, as shown on Exhibit A; and • NFS lands within ¼ mile of either side of South St. Vrain Creek beginning at the Ceran-St. Vrain trailhead and ending ¼ mile from the intersection of South St. Vrain Creek and National Forest System Road 252.1 (Sections 10, 15, 16, 22, Township 2 North, Range 72 West), as shown on Exhibit B.
PROHIBITIONS: 1. Camping. (When provided by an order, the following are prohibited: Camping. 36 CFR 261.58(e)) 2. Parking or leaving a vehicle in violation of posted instructions. (When provided by an order, the following are prohibited: Parking or leaving a vehicle in violation of posted instructions. 36 CFR 261.58(g))
EXEMPTIONS: Pursuant to 36 CFR § 261.50(e), the following persons are exempt from this order: 1. Persons with a Forest Service special use authorization or other authorization specifically exempting them from the effect of this Order 2. Any Federal, State, or local officer, or member of an organized rescue or fire fighting force in the performance of an official duty. These prohibitions are in addition to the general prohibitions in 36 CFR Part 261, Subpart A.
This Order supersedes, rescinds, and replaces Order # ARP-BRD-2021-02 dated May 11, 2021. This Order will be in effect when signed and shall remain in effect until May 11, 2026, or until rescinded.
