Forest Order

Pursuant to 36 CFR 261.50 (a), the following acts are prohibited within the area described below and as shown on Exhibit A of this order within the Arapaho National Forest. This order shall be in effect annually from the first snowfall of the winter season until all snow is melted from the hillside. 

1. Going into or being upon the area described below for the protection of public health or safety (36 CFR 261.53 (e)) and protection of property (36 CFR 261.53 (f)). 

2. The area closed is an old gravel quarry located immediately east of US Highway 40. The area is in Section 14 of T. 2 S., R.75 W., and is identified on the attached maps. The area is bounded to the west by U.S. Highway 40, to the east by NFSR 128.3, to the north by NFSR 128.0, and to the south by a straight line running west to east from the beginning terminus of NFSR 128.0 to NFSR 128.3. The entire hillside bounded by these features is closed to all entry. 

Pursuant to 36 CFR 261.50 (e), the following persons are exempt from this order: 1. Persons with a permit or authorization specifically authorizing the otherwise prohibited act or omission. 2. Any Federal, State, or local officer, to include employees of the Denver Water Department in performance of their duties, or members of an organized rescue or firefighting force in the performance of an official duty.
