Upper Goliath Trailhead

The Upper Goliath Trailhead is located within the Mount Blue Sky Recreation Area, south of the Mount Goliath Natural Area. It provides many summer recreation opportunities, including the Alpine Gardens Loop Trail (#49) and the M. Walter Pesmen Trail (#50).

Directions

I-70 westbound, Idaho Springs exit #240 - Hwy 103. Drive approx. 12 miles to the turn off for Highway 5. Proceed through the fee station and drive 5 miles south on Highway 5 to the Upper Goliath Trailhead.

Travel Considerations

Due to high elevation, the trails in some years are not generally snow-free until late June or mid-July.
