Ute Peak Trailhead

The Ute Peak Trailhead is a minor trailhead along National Forest System Road 138 (CR 30) in the Williams Fork Valley. The Ute Peak Trail (#24) is 13.6 miles one way. Begin at the Ute Peak Trailhead. Towards the beginning of the trail, pass through a tunnel that goes under the train tracks. As the trail gains elevation, it meets up with the Ute Pass Trail (#31) and continues up towards Ute Peak. Although the hike up to the ridge is steep and strenuous, the trail levels at the top. Panoramic views of the Continental Divide and the Gore Range abound.

Portions of the Ute Peak Trail are located within the Ptarmigan Peak Wilderness.
