Schnebly Hill Vista Observation Site
The Vista provides one of the best views of eastern Sedona and the red rocks below that one can see. It's truly spectacular and worth it if you're able to make it to the Vista. In the winter months, there can be seasonal road closures to the Vista from the Merry-Go-Round in Sedona to the top of Schnebly Hill Road (Forest Road 153) and also from the Huckaby Trailhead parking lot on up, so be sure to check the Forest Roads Status page during winter months (click the Red Rock Ranger District dropdown and look for FR 153). Also there is no camping or campfires permitted at the vista point. Most importantly, high clearance, 4-wheel drive vehicles are needed to get to the Vista from Sedona due to road conditions.
One may access the Vista from the top, instead of driving up Schnebly Hill Road from Sedona. To do so, take Interstate 17 to the Schnebly Hill exit #320. From the exit, drive on Schnebly Hill Road, which is a typical forest road, for about 5.7 miles to the Vista. Don't attempt going down Schnebly Hill Road from there unless you have high clearance because it will eat your vehicle for breakfast and render it utterly destroyed.
