  • Pelletreau Ridge Rd and Wintoon Flat Rd Emergency Road Closure

    Pelletreau Ridge Road (FS Road 3N10) and Wintoon Flat Road (FS 3N30) are closed due to geological instability which caused activation of a landside and make Pelletreau Ridge road impassable to all modes of transportation. These roads are on the Hayfork Ranger District in Hyampom, CA.

    Residents and property owners are exempt in order to access their residences or properties.

FOREST ORDER 14-25-05

SOUTH FORK MANAGEMENT UNIT EMERGENCY ROAD CLOSURE

Pursuant to 16 U.S.C. § 551 and 36 C.F.R. § 261.50(b), and to provide for public safety, the following act is prohibited within the South Fork Management Unit of the Shasta-Trinity National Forest. This Order is effective from February 14, 2025, through December 31, 2025.

Being on Forest Road No. 3N10 (Pelletreau Ridge Road) and Forest Road 3N30 (Wintoon Flat Road) as shown on the attached map (Exhibit A).  36 C.F.R. § 261.54(e).

Pursuant to 36 C.F.R. § 261.50(e), the following persons are exempt from this Order:

  1. Persons with Forest Service Permit No. FS-7700-48 (Permit for Use of Roads, Trails, or Areas Restricted by Regulation or Order), specifically exempting them from this Order.
  2. Any Federal, State, or local officer, or member of an organized rescue or fire-fighting force in the performance of an official duty.
  3. Residents and property owners with parcels along the closed roads are not exempt from the prohibition listed above but may use the closed roads to access their residences or properties.

This prohibition is in addition to the general prohibitions in 36 C.F.R. Part 261, Subpart A.

A violation of this prohibition is punishable by a fine of not more than $5,000 for an individual or $10,000 for an organization, or imprisonment for not more than six months, or both.             16 U.S.C. § 551 and 18 U.S.C. §§ 3559, 3571, and 3581.
