Under the authority granted me by 36 CFR 261, S0(a), in order to promote public safety and to reduce conflict between motorized and non-motorized traffic, the following area is closed to motorized vehicles when posted until further notice;


(l) The National Forest System lands on the CHELAN RANGER DISTRICT in portions of T28 N., R22 E,, sections 1, 2, 11, 12, 13, 14 and T29 N., R22 E., sections 35 and 36. 

This area of National Forest is known as the Echo Ridge Ski Area and is bounded by Bergman Gulch and the western boundary of sections 2 and 35 on the west, Washington Creek on the north, the National Forest Boundary on
the east in sections l, 12, & 13, and the National Forest Boundary on the south in section ll, 13, and 14. 

The area closed to motorized vehicles is depicted on the attached Exhibit A map (36 CFR . 26l,53(e)) , Exceptions: snowmobiles are permitted on Trails #1297 and #1299, road #8010 from the National Forest Boundary to the junction with
the #8010-131 road, and the #8010-131 road. Wheeled, highway-legal vehicle only are permitted on the portion of the
#8021 road between Echo Valley sno-Park and the Echo Ridge ski Area parking lot.


Pursuant to 36 CFR 26l.50(e), the following persons are exempt from this Order:
(l) Forest service administrative traffic;
(2) Persons with a written permit from the Forest Supervisor or District ranger
(3) Any Federal, State, or local officer or member of an organized search and rescue or firefighting force in the performance of official duties.
