Forest Order

Pursuant to 36 CFR 261.50(a) and (b), the following acts are prohibited on the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest:

To go into or be upon any area closed for protection of public health or safety. For the purposes of this order, it is prohibited to enter or be within National Forest System lands, roads, or trails within the area of the Wenatchee River Ranger District closure area consisting of: 

The western boundary begins on the Wenatchee River 50 feet upriver from the fog line on the Tumwater Bridge. It follows due north buffering 50' from the fog line on US Hwy 2 to 100 yards north of Chiwaukum Creek. It then follows 150 yards off the eastern edge of Chiwaukum creek until the junction of the Wenatchee River. It than follows the western side of the Wenatchee River until it intersects the beginning point at the Tumwater Bridge. 

Tumwater Campground is Closed. 

Tumwater Day Use Area is Closed. 

 

This closure is effective as of September, 2014 and will remain in effect until terminated.
