Teanaway Guard Station
Teanaway Guard Station is a cozy log cabin retreat for two. Looking for a rustic forest setting and a great jump-off location for a bounty of outdoor activities? This is it!
The rustic 12 x 18 foot, one room log cabin sits at 3,200 feet elevation in the Teanaway River drainage with the North Fork Teanaway River just across the road. The cabin is furnished with a set of bunk beds (bring your sleeping bags) a table and chairs, a wood burning stove, firewood is provided. The kitchen is equipped with a two burner Coleman propane stove. You supply the 16.4-ounce propane bottles. A lantern is in the cabin which uses 4 D-cell batteries that you provide. There is no water on site, and visitors must bring plenty for drinking, cooking and washing. Water can be hauled from the Teanaway River, but must be treated before use.
A vault toilet is located near the cabin. A picnic table and fire pit are available for outdoor barbecuing, dining and campfires. Visitors are asked to check campfire restrictions prior to arrival.
- Availability: Teanaway Guard Station is available for rent year-round, weather permitting.
- Price and Capacity: $65 per night per group, with a maximum of two occupants. Fees are used directly for the maintenance and preservation of the guard station.

Directions
From I-90 east of Cle Elum: take exit 85. Follow Highway 970 North approximately 6.5 miles to Teanaway Road. Turn left and drive 13 miles to end of pavement. Turn right onto Forest Road 9737. Continue 2.2 miles and then turn right to the Guard Station.
From Leavenworth: follow Highway 97 South from its junction with Highway 2 for 38.5 miles to Teanaway Road. Turn right and drive 13 miles to the end of the pavement. Turn right onto Forest Road 9737. Continue 2.2 miles and turn right to the Guard Station.
From early May through mid-November, the cabin is accessible by most passenger vehicles.
Mid-December through early April, parking is 2.2 miles from the cabin at 29 Pines Sno-Park. It is an easy ski or snowshoe trip over a groomed snowmobile route. The road and parking area are plowed by road crews.
Travel Considerations
Warning
During the winter months, snowfall of 12 to 24 inches in a 24-hour period is not uncommon in this area. It is possible that upon return to your vehicle, you will find it snowed in. Please be prepared to dig it out. Make sure your vehicle is prepared for winter driving conditions. Carry tire chains, extra food, water and clothing.
