Diamond Lake South Shore Picnic Area

Near the Broken Arrow Campground, take in stunning views of Diamond Lake as you enjoy a snack at the South Shore Picnic Area. After eating, take a stroll on the John Dellneback Trail. 

Reservations

General Information

Day-use area: $5/vehicle/day. The fee is waived when the Northwest Forest Pass or Interagency America the Beautiful Pass is displayed on your car dashboard. Find out which pass works best for you, via this website: Region 6 - Recreation Passes & Permits (usda.gov)

  • Quiet hours between 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. 
  • Campfires allowed in developed fire pits when conditions allow. Please see current Alerts and Fire Danger Status at the top of this page. Learn more about current fire information on the Umpqua National Forest. 
  • Fireworks are prohibited. 
  • OHV/ATV use prohibited in the campground. 
  • Maximum length of stay anywhere on the forest is 14 days.

Located 80 miles east of Roseburg.

From Roseburg, OR, take OR-138 E / NE Diamond Lake Boulevard. Continue on Highway 138, turn right onto Forest Road 4795 (Diamond Lake Loop) at the north entrance to Diamond Lake Recreation Area. Proceed 3.2 miles and turn right at the South Shore. Go 0.5 mile to the South Shore Boat Ramp entrance on the right.

The site may also be accessed via Highway 230 from Medford, OR, or Highway 97 from Klamath Falls, OR and Bend, OR.
