Planning refers to the development, amendment and monitoring of our Land and Resource Management Plan, otherwise known as our "Forest Plan." Thank you for your interest in the Hiawatha National Forest Plan. This is the page where you will find links regarding the Forest Plan.

2006 Forest Plan

The Hiawatha National Forest published its Notice of Intent to revise its Land and Resource Management Plan (Forest Plan) in September 2003. The draft Forest Plan Revision documents were published in March 2005 and the final documents were released in May 2006. 

The Notice of Availability was published in the Federal Register on May 19, 2006 and a legal notice was published in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel on May 22, 2006.

Monitoring Reports

The Forest has the option to postpone publication of its Biennial Report for one year in case of exigencies, but notice of the postponement must be provided to the public prior to the date the report is due for that year (36 CFR § 219.12(d)(1)(iii)). This is notice that we anticipate  publishing a biennial report for FY20-21
