    • Manage, protect, rehabilitate, and enhance habitat for plants and wildlife​
    • Work on interdisciplinary teams to plan and implement national grassland management activities​ 
    • Provide technical expertise to conserve the biological diversity of National Grasslands​
    • Protect and recover species at risk​
    • Complete a variety of botanical and wildlife surveys in the Dakota’s most scenic and highly valued areas​
    • Collaborate with external partners on conservation and stewardship of the National Grasslands ​
  • Environmental Coordination

    • Work on Interdisciplinary Teams in analyzing and identifying alternatives to solve complex natural resource problems​
    • Lead efforts in preparing and editing National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documents ​
    • Work with multiple resource areas to determine applicable rules and regulations for a variety of projects through field and office work.​
    • Coordinate Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests ​
    • Assist in Litigation​
    • Work with and engage the public on activities occurring on National Forest System lands. ​ ​

  • Civil Engineering

    Engineers at work

    • Provides professional engineering input into the interdisciplinary planning process for natural resource development activities involving engineering projects.
    • Prepares original designs and preliminary and final layouts of projects such as road design, small bridges, retaining walls, major drainage structures, erosion control features, buildings, towers, small dams, and recreation sites.
    • Prepares Environmental Analysis, Environmental Impact Statements, and special reports with regard to new or improved engineering construction.
    • Responsible for contract compliance on assigned projects.
