Volunteers

The Volunteers in the National Forest Act of 1972 formalized Volunteer service for the USDA Forest Service. National forests, grasslands, and prairies are available to the public because of the many years of service by individuals who have preserved, protected, and improved them. Your volunteer efforts help continue that legacy.

Why Volunteer?

Working with the Forest Service and fellow volunteers provides an opportunity to see what our National Forests and Grasslands offer in a way that benefits both you and the forest. The commitment you make is up to you.
