  • Some sites charge a small usage fee.

  • Reservations are not required for campgrounds. They are first come, first served EXCEPT for Beaver Dam Campground on the Caney Ranger District.

  • The Old LSU Walking Trail at the Supervisor’s Office is open.

  • Motorized trail status changes with weather conditions. Please call the OHV Trail Status Hotline for updates: 866-830-6467.

Kisatchie National Forest Offers Virtual Services in Response to COVID-19

The Kisatchie National Forest is implementing virtual services to protect the health and safety of employees and members of the public during the COVID-19 outbreak in accordance with guidance from federal and state authorities. Customers needing information, permits and maps are encouraged to call the appropriate office numbers listed in the left column of this page during regular business hours. To purchase America the Beautiful Passes and Kisatchie National Forest Annual Day-Use and Trail Use Passes, please see the scheduled times in which you may visit our offices. Please follow CDC guidelines and precautions if you plan on visiting our offices.

Kincaid Lake Trails Update

A portion of the Kincaid Loop Trail around Kincaid Lake has been opened. The trail was damaged heavily after the December 2019 tornado and was closed for public safety. Forest Service employees have been diligently working to open the effected areas. As indicated on the map, a one-mile reroute will begin just before the Kincaid Loop A camping area and will continue onto FS Rd 205 and end at the fee station trailhead. Please follow the reroute postings throughout the trail. Please also note for the safety of the public, Lakeshore Trail, Lamotte Trail, and Wild Azalea SPUR are CLOSED due to tornado damage.
