Firefighters are making good progress on holding the fireline and constructing indirect line on the northern perimeter and eastern perimeter toward the wilderness boundary. A fire weather watch for thunderstorms and high winds is expected for today and into the evening. Structure protection and contingency planning are in place. There are 11 crews, 3 helicopters, 55 engines, 37 dozers, and miscellaneous overhead for a total of 611 personnel assigned to the incident.

The lightning-caused Crazy Horse Fire began on August 8, 2003. Cooperating agencies: Montana Department of Natural Resources, Missoula County, Condon Fire Department, Bureau of Land Management, Bureau of Indian Affairs, and National Park Service.

Fire Activity Advisory:
Mandatory evacuations have been lifted for the residents of Stoner Lake Road. Residents of Elk Creek Road have also had the mandatory evacuation lifted with the exception of the last two homes.

The following areas remain under a fire activity advisory. The fire still has the potential to threaten the communities and evacuations may be necessary in the future.
