A permit is required to build a boat dock on lakes within the Arapaho National Recreation Area. Please follow the steps in How to Apply for a Dock Permit. Permit applications are accepted January 1 - April 1. Have questions? Contact us.
If you wish to construct or maintain a road, or use a road not open to the public on National Forest System lands, you must obtain a right-of-way from the Forest Service. If you can demonstrate a need for a right-of-way the Forest Service may grant you one. Contact us.
The USDA Forest Service manages surface disturbing activities on National Forest System lands. The Forest Service does not lease oil and gas rights. That role is held by the Bureau of Land Management. If you wish to prospect or mine for minerals, prior Forest Service authorization may be required. Contact us.
