Ashurst Lake

Launch your boats (and other adventures) at Ashurst Lake.

The Ashurst Lake boat launch, located on the west side of the lake, is open as weather permits, and allows water access for fishing, paddling and other activities.

Single electric motor or single gasoline engine limited to 10 horsepower. See Arizona Game & Fish Department Watercraft Rules and Regulations for additional information.

Pets should be kept on a leash and controlled at all times.

Access: Drive south 19 miles from Flagstaff on Lake Mary Road then east about 4 miles on Forest Road 82E.

Travel Considerations

During the winter, roads leading into the area are closed to vehicles.

Viewing Wildlife Info

Birdwatching is at its prime during the spring waterfowl migration. White-faced ibises tend to graze in the shallows along with the cinnamon teal, pintails and other ducks. Bald eagles and osprey can also be seen in the area, along with a number of species of hawks and songbirds.
