Check the Weather Forecast
Always check the weather forecast before you head out so you can be properly prepared with the right clothing and gear to stay safe and comfortable during your visit.
Call the Local Office
Calling the local Gila National Forest office ahead of your visit is a great way to find out about current closures, restrictions, and road conditions so you can be prepared.
Check Fire Restrictions and Closures
Check for fire restrictions and area closures on the forest's Alerts page so you will know whether campfires or gas-fired stoves are allowed, and if any road, trail, or area closures are in effect.
