Contracting
The Gila National Forest is a substantial contributor to the economies of local communities through contracting with various local businesses and citizens for the procurement and acquisition of goods and services in support of the Forest Service mission. Services are provided through contracts, purchasing, and other various contract tools.
Contract services include but are not limited to:
- Tree Thinning Projects
- Trail Construction
- Custodial Services
- Construction projects of all types for repair or renovation of Government facilities
Supplies and services
Supplies or services in support of fire incidents include:
- Water, fuel, meals, medical supplies, mechanic services, transportation services, tires, lodging, portable toilets, and pack strings, etc.
- Equipment rentals include: dozers, excavators, backhoes, and water tenders etc. (Available through Virtual Incident Procurement (VIPR).)
