Aldo Leopold Vista Picnic Area
Aldo Leopold Vista offers vast panoramic views of the Mogollon Mountains and the Gila Wilderness to the east, the San Francisco River Valley and bluffs to the north and the high plains of Mule Creek and Arizona to the west and southwest.
There are interpretive panels and a brief history of Forest Service Ranger and visionary Aldo Leopold and the beginning of wilderness preservation.
Directions:
From Silver City travel north on US Hwy 180 for approximately 49 miles.
On the west side of the road there will be a sign for the Aldo Leopold Vista.
Make a left at this sign and follow Leopold Vista Road to the recreation area.

Overnight use is not permitted in the area. Occupancy and use is dawn to dusk.
No fee for use
Pets must be leashed in the picnic area
