Gila Visitor Center
Interagency visitor center managed by the National Park Service and Gila National Forest providing information regarding the Cliff Dwellings National Monument and Gila Wilderness.
General Information
Year-round, 7 days a week, except for identified holidays.
The Gila Cliff Dwellings, Gila Visitor Center and Gila Cliff Dwellings Trailhead contact station are open every day of the year except Christmas (December 25) and New Year's Day (January 1). The trail to the Gila Cliff Dwellings is open 9:00 am - 5:00 pm (MST), 7 days per wk. The visitor center is open from 8 a.m to 4:30 p.m. Please contact the visitor center (575.536.9461) ahead of time to ensure there are no closures. New Mexico is in the Mountain Time zone and observes Daylight Savings Time.
No pass or permit required
Permits are required for commercial or organized uses.
Dogs are prohibited within the cliff dwellings and on the cliff dwellings trail.
There is no fee for use
Please contact the Gila National Forest Supervisors Office at 575-388-8201 for information about outfitters and guides who are authorized to operate on the forest.
