Betenson Flat Trailhead
Overview
The Betenson Flat Trailhead is located south of Hwy-153, and just off of FR-137 (Kent's Lake Road) at 9,710 feet in elevation.
Facilities
A vault toilet and an Information Kiosk are located at the trailhead.
Natural Features
This site is located on the north end of a large meadow known as Betenson Flat. The surrounding ridges in the area are covered with aspen, Englemann spruce and subalpine fir.
Recreation
Popular activities in the area include horseback riding, viewing scenery, and OHV riding on designated routes. The trailhead provides access to main Paiute 01 trail. Sections of this trail to both the north and south are limited to vehicles 60 inches or less in width.
General Information
Always travel responsibly on designated routes shown on the official Fishlake Travel Map and use Leave No Trace principals.
June - October
- No overnight camping is allowed in the parking area - parking only.
- All motorized travel is restricted to designated travel routes. Cross country travel, driving around closed gates, width restriction barriers, and driving on meadows is prohibited.
- All OHVs are required to be registered and display a permit or sticker for riding on public lands.
- Yield to hikers, horses and non-motorized users.
No Fees are required for this site.
- Pets must be leashed at all times within this recreation area. This policy is in place to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all visitors and to protect wildlife.
- Clean up dog waste and dispose of it properly.
- Keep dogs from chasing, harassing, and disturbing wildlife, livestock or other visitors
- Yield to other hikers, horses, and other trail users by stepping off the trail and controlling your dog

Betenson Flat is located approximately 12.7 miles from Junction, Utah. From Junction, Utah travel west on Hwy-153 (Center Street) 12 miles to the junction with FR-137. Turn left onto FR-137 (Kent's Lake Road) for about 0.25 miles. Turn east onto FR-151 and proceed 0.45 miles to the trailhead.
From Beaver, Utah travel east on Hwy-153 for approximately 26 miles to the junction with FR-137 (Kent's Lake Road). Turn right onto FR-137 for about 0.25 miles. Turn east onto FR-151 and proceed 0.45 miles to the trailhead.

There are no corrals, hitching posts or water available for horses at the trailhead. This route is open to equine use, as the trail leads to many non-motorized, foot and horse trail systems.
