Grasshopper Trail
Located in the Rogue-Umpqua Divide Wilderness, Grasshopper Mountain Trail #1574 connects Acker Divide Trail #1437 to Lakes Trail #1578 near Cliff Lake. Along the way, the trail passes through old-growth forests, lush Grasshopper Meadow, and drier ridgetop meadows. It also provides access to Grasshopper Mountain Trail #1580, which goes to a former fire lookout site and is well worth the 0.75-mile detour.
Trail elevation ranges from 5,280' at the highest point to 4,360' at the lowest.

A 6-mile loop can be made from Acker Divide Trailhead by following Acker Divide Trail #1437 to Grasshopper Mountain Trail #1580; continuing on to Lakes Trail #1578; and then meeting up again with Acker Divide Trail #1437 and taking it back to the trailhead. Be sure to check all trail conditions before you head out.
From mid-to-late fall and early to mid-spring expect that the trail will have snow cover.

Directions
Acker Divide Trailhead: From Canyonville, Oregon take West 1st Street and turn onto southeast 3rd Street / County Road 1. Continue to follow County Road #46, which becomes South Umpqua Road #28. Then take a right onto Jackson Creek Road #29. Follow Jackson Creek Road #29 to Forest Service Road #2900-550. Take left onto Forest Service Road #2900-550 and follow for a mile to Acker Divide Trailhead, approximately 31 miles from Tiller, Oregon.
