Waldo Meadows Trail #3591

After skirting the edge of a meadow near the road, the trail climbs slightly for about 1 mile. You can see the Salmon Lakes basin before the trail begins to descend, sometimes steeply, through large rocks.

From this area, moderate rolling grades take the visitor to the Salmon Lakes Trail #3585. Then the trail offers fairly steep grades to the Waldo Mountain Trail #3592 and again descends steeply into the Gander Lake basin.

After passing Gander Lake, the trail switches back up a steep ridge where it flattens out, passing the Swan Lake Trail #3570 and climbing 0.5 mile to the Winchester Ridge Trail #3596.

Be prepared for mosquitoes in the early summer.
