Triangulation Trailhead

General Information

Open 24 hours/day

There are two types of entry permits required between June 15 and October 15 for entering the Mt. Jefferson Wilderness from this trailhead.

  • Overnight Use
  • Day Use
    • Free, self-issue Wilderness Permit (available at the trailhead) between June 15 and October 15.

No fees are required for this site

Within developed recreation sites, dogs must be on a leash no longer than 6 feet, or otherwise under physical restrictive control. 36 CFR 261.16(j)

Directions

From Detroit, Oregon travel east on Highway 22 for approximately 8 miles to Forest Service Road 2233 (McCoy Creek Road), turn left onto FS Road 2233, travel 7 miles to Triangulation Trail #3373. 

  • Triangulation Trailhead is on the right.
  • Hike along Triangulation Trail for about 1.5 miles to Triangulation Peak Trail junction.
