The Chief, each Regional Forester, or Forest Supervisor may issue orders which close or restrict the use of described areas within the area over which he or she has jurisdiction. An order may close an area to entry or may restrict the use of an area by applying any or all of the prohibitions authorized in this subpart or any portion thereof. Orders are issued to protect resources, prevent resource damage, address public health and safety concerns, or set limits on use and occupancy of Chugach National Forest infrastructure and facilities.
Remember the Penalty for violating a forest order or any other prohibition found in 36 CFR 261.1 – 261.23. is punishable by a fine of not more than $5,000 for an individual or $10,000 for an organization, or imprisonment for not more than six months, or both. 10-04-30-25-11 Palmer Creek Road and Coeur d'Alene Campground Closure
To protect the health and safety of forest-users and construction workers, the Palmer Creek Road, including the Coeur d’Alene Campground, will be closed to all public use starting May 1, 2025 until Sep. 30, 2025.

10-04-30-25-09 Russian River Campground Area Special Closure

Pursuant to 36 CFR 261.50 (a), possessing, discharging, or using any kind of firework or other pyrotechnic device is prohibited on all lands administered by the Forest Service within the Chugach National Forest.

The use or possession of any pack, saddle, or draft animals on all National Forest recreation trails on the Seward Ranger District from April 1 through June 30 is prohibited.

Parking or storage of boats, motor vehicles, and/or boat trailers for more than 24 consecutive hours at the Eyak boat launch without written authorization is prohibited.
