Alsek River Cabin
Cabin is the furthest Sothern cabin on YRD, This cabin is primarily used for moose hunting in the fall. Cabin is equipped with wooden bunks, table, benches, oil stove for heat and an outside toilet. It does not have mattresses or cooking utensils. Cabin users should bring their own sleeping bags, pads, cook stoves, cooking gear and food. Users must bring #1 stove oil for heat.
Alta Campground
Alta Campground features 14 campsites with 1 host site, potable water, garbage, vault toilets, and handicap accessible picnic tables. Site will accept RV's or trailers to 30'. Sites can accommodate tents and/or RV's. Each site can accommodate up to 10 people and 2 vehicles. Water is available at several locations within the campground. Utility hookups are not available.

This trailhead provides access to Alta Lake Trail #979 which enters Sky Lakes Wilderness.
Alta Lakes Campground (Designated) - Norwood RD
Alta Lakes is a popular dispersed camping area that offers fishing and camping in a spectacular alpine setting. There are 20 designated campsites that are completely undeveloped. The access road to the area is narrow and rough, requiring a high clearance vehicle. Trailers and RV's are not recommended.
Alta Pine Interpretive Site
This interpretive site focuses on the Alta Pine which was thought to be the second oldest pine in the state of Montana at over 800 years old. In 1989 a lightning strike damaged the tree, and it was killed by a second lightning strike in 1993. In 2008 the top fell over after a small fire. Despite this it is still considered a valuable cultural resource.
Altamont Group Campground
Altamont Campground is located along the beautiful Alpine Loop Scenic Byway high in the Wasatch Mountains. The Mount Timpanogos Wilderness Area is adjacent. Visitors enjoy hiking the nearby Timpooneke Trail to the summit of Mount Timpanogos.

Alum Cove Natural Bridge Recreation Area
Outstanding among the many natural features of the Ozark Natural Forest is the huge stone arch that forms a natural bridge at Alum Cove National Recreation Trail. The natural arch is all that remains of what was a quartz sandstone cave. The arch is 130 feet long and 20 feet wide. The weathering process of wind, rain and ice formed the opening between the arch and the rock overhang.

The Amelia Creek Trailhead is a small facility located on the northern end of the Monument Rock Wilderness. This rustic facility has a few amenities and is used by hunters, hikers, and horseback riders. This site accesses Amelia Creek Trail #1973. Wilderness Regulations apply - Motorized vehicles, bicycles, carts, hang glider and other mechanical equipment is prohibited in the Wilderness area.
