Over 3 million acres of land located in 22 National Recreation Areas managed by the Forest Service is preserved for recreational activities like hiking, boating, fishing and swimming, while highlighting natural, cultural and scenic resources. Visitors who choose to recreate on these public lands find 164,000 miles of trails, over 30,000 recreation sites, over 5,000 miles of streams and 3 million acres of lakes, 127 alpine ski areas, 338,000 heritage sites, and specially designated sites that include 37 million acres of designated wilderness areas, 130 wild and scenic rivers, 15 monuments, and one preserve. Anaconda Pintler Wilderness

The Anaconda Pintler Wilderness is a 158,656-acre area straddling the Continental Divide located in southwest Montana. It's known for its high, rugged mountain scenery where mountain goats make their home. Elevations range from 5,100 feet in the lower reaches to 10,793 feet on West Goat Peak. Passes are commonly snow-covered until mid-July.

Anchor Pass Buoy

This buoy is white with blue and white reflective tape. It is available on a first come, first serve basis and is intended for use by small to medium watercraft. The buoy is located in 30-80 feet of water and has a 7/8 inch chain. This buoy provides a means of access to the Anchor Bay cabin maintained by the Forest Service.

Anchor Pass Cabin

This is a rustic style 12' X 14' Pan Abode cabin constructed in 1975. The cabin contains a wood burning stove, and sleeping space for 4 to 6 people. Anderson Pond Day-Use Area

Visitors to Anderson Pond can utilize the bank fishing and shaded picnic area with easy access from Louisiana Highway 118. Often, the Kisatchie Ranger District's annual Fishing Derby is held here. Persons intending to fish must be legally licensed to fish in Louisiana. General day-use, vault toilets, trash receptacles and bank fishing.

Anderson Reservoir #2260

Andies Prairie Sno-Park
