Pueblo Park Campground

Pueblo Park Campground is located in a large, cool stand of old growth ponderosa pines adjacent to the northern edge of the Blue Range Wilderness boundary with Dangerous Park Trail #515 on the northern end of the campground, and the WS Mountain Trail #43 immediately south of the campground entrance.

No pass required

Permits are required for commercial or organized uses.

Use of OHV and ATVs is prohibited in the campground. Hunting and shooting are prohibited in the campground. Stock animals are not allowed in the immediate campground. A 14-day stay limit applies.

No fees for use

Pets must be on leash in the campground

Please contact the Gila National Forest Supervisors Office at 575-388-8201 for information about outfitters and guides who are authorized to operate on the forest.

Directions

From Glenwood, New Mexico, take US Highway 180, 25 miles north to the Pueblo Park turnoff (between mile markers 26 and 25). Travel west 6 miles on County Road C-013.

From Reserve, New Mexico, take New Mexico Highway 12, 6 miles west to US Highway 180 and travel 5 miles south to the Pueblo Park turnoff (between mile markers 25 and 26). Travel west 6 miles on County Road C-013.

Biking - Mountain Info

Pueblo Park Road provides extensive opportunity for gravel road cycling, and several area trailheads provide non-motorized trail access north of Pueblo Park. The Pueblo Park trailhead is located adjacent to Pueblo Park Campground; Cottonwood Trailhead is along the Pueblo Park Road east of the campground, and Hinkle Park Trailhead is west/north of the campground.

Viewing Scenery Info

Travelling west on Pueblo Park Road from the campground provides scenic views, overlooks, and diverse forest areas for viewing scenery. Mountain scenery with ponderosa pine and pinon-juniper forest.

The Gila National Forest is home to diverse and abundant wildlife.
