Rain Creek #189 Trailhead

Trailhead for Rain Creek Trail #189.  1.25 miles of the Rain Creek Trail was logged, brushed and some retread work was done in 2021, from the junction with Mogollon Creek Trail #153 to Bud's Hole area on Mogollon Creek. This offers a beautiful view of Sacaton Mountain, Mogollon Baldy, and more. Leads to Bud's Hole area and Mogollon Creek.

Parking is available overnight; occupancy and use at the trailhead is dawn to dusk.

No pass required

Permits are required for commercial or organized uses.

Please do not camp in trailhead parking areas. All stock feed brought onto the Gila National Forest must be certified weed free.

There is no fee for use

Pets must be leashed in the trailhead

Please contact the Gila National Forest Supervisors Office at 575-388-8201 for information about outfitters and guides who are authorized to operate on the forest.

Directions

From U.S. Highway 180 near the Aldo Leopold Vista Picnic Site, between mileposts 62 and 63, turn west onto Sacaton Road and proceed 10.4 miles to the Rain Creek trailhead adjacent to the Sacaton airstrip.
