Motorized Trail #960

Motorized Trail #960 leaves Sapillo Group Campground from the north end of Forest Road 4241 and heads west, climbing through a narrow wash. At the top of the wash, Trail #960 turns north over the hilltop, and then follows the nose of the ridge down toward New Mexico Highway 35. Near the highway, Trail #960- ends at Forest Road 4206.

This route is part of a motorized trail and full-sized road system in the Sapillo area. Motorized Trails are designated for use by vehicles 50 inches wide or narrower.

Water may be available from stock tanks, streams, and springs. It is advisable to bring your own. Filter, boil, or treat water drawn from natural sources.

All stock feed brought onto the Gila National Forest must be certified weed free.

Motorized vehicles are restricted to designated routes. No driving off-road. See Motor Vehicle Use Map for this area for route designations.

From Mimbres, follow New Mexico Highway 35 north for about 15 miles to the signed Sapillo Campground on the south (left) side of Highway 35, near milepost 20.
