Bullion Pasture Trailhead

Overview
Bullion Pasture Trailhead is located along FR-123 in the Tushar Mountains at an elevation of 10,975 feet.

Natural Features
This site is located near timberline with steep peaks and canyons in every direction.  The main vegetation found around the trailhead are spruce, conifer and aspen trees.  There are incredible views of several peaks including Mt. Belknap, Copper Belt Peak, Delano Peak and Gold Mountain, some of which stand over 12,000 feet in elevation.

Facilities
There is a vault toilet restroom, dirt and gravel parking area, picnic table and Information Kiosks at this site.

Recreation
Popular activities in the area include horseback riding, hiking, viewing scenery, viewing wildlife and OHV riding on designated routes. The trailhead provides access to the main Paiute 01 and a large network of non-motorized trails through Bullion Pasture to Miner's Park and the Pocket. The non-motorized trail system takes you east down Bullion Canyon and provides breathtaking views of rugged canyon country. 

General Information

Always travel on designated routes shown on the official Fishlake Travel Map and use Leave No Trace principals. 

Mid-July through late October. Season lengths vary annually due to snow conditions; there is no guarantee to when the site is accessible each year. It is recommended to call the Beaver Ranger District and check road conditions in the area prior to planning a trip. 

  • No overnight camping inside trailhead parking area
  • All motorized travel is restricted to designated travel routes. Cross country travel, driving around closed gates, width restriction barriers, and driving on meadows is prohibited.
  • All OHVs are required to be registered and display a permit or sticker for riding on public lands.
  • Motorized users should yield to hikers, horses and other non-motorized users.

No Fees are required for this site.

  • Pets must be leashed at all times within this recreation area. This policy is in place to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all visitors and to protect wildlife.
  • Clean up dog waste and dispose of it properly.
  • Keep dogs from chasing, harassing, and disturbing wildlife, livestock or other visitors
  • Yield to other hikers, horses, and other trail users by stepping off the trail and controlling your dog

Directions

The Bullion Pasture Trailhead is located 26 miles east of Beaver, Utah. From Beaver travel approximately 16 miles east on Hwy-153. Turn left on FR-123 (Big John's Flat Road) and travel approximately 10 miles to the trailhead, located on the right (east) side of the road. 

From Marysvale, Utah follow FR-113 for 10 miles. Turn left (west) at the junction with FR-123 and continue west on FR-123 for roughly 6 miles until you reach the trailhead, located on the left (east) side of the road.

Travel Considerations

***Trailers are NOT recommended on FR-123 due to steep and narrow road conditions, including tight switchbacks and large water bars (on the Beaver Creek/Marysvale side) that are in place to help mitigate erosion and road loss.

Trailers are not recommended on FR-123 due to steep and narrow road conditions with tight switchbacks.
