When wildland fires start, Public Information Officers post information for the public and news media outlets on our Facebook and X social media profiles as soon as information is available. Information about the incidents will also be posted to the current year's Fire Information page, which is updated as often as fire activity dictates.

When fires are reported, we will list the start date, location, cause, size and, if available, the status of the wildland fires to which our staff have responded on this page

2024 Fire Information

During the 2024 fire season, the Sawtooth National Forest logged 38 wildland fire starts. Two other fires, which started on the Boise National Forest and State of Idaho lands, also worked their way onto the forest.
