Baumgartner Campground
Baumgartner Campground is a group, fee, reservation campground composed of 39 camping units on the South Fork of the Boise River. It is one of two campgrounds on the District that has a campground host. There are 6 double family units, for up to 16 people each, and 1 multi-family group unit that can be reserved for up to 32 campers. Swimming, fishing, and picnicking are popular activities. UTVs, ATVs, and off-road motorcycles (dirt bikes) are not allowed to be ridden within the campground, you may trailer them in and out only. An interpretive nature trail offers history on the geologic attractions in the area. The hot springs wading pool, located within the campground ranges from 98-111 degrees Fahrenheit and is open daily from dawn until dusk. Pool cleanings are on Tuesdays and the pool may not open until noon. The pool is drained nightly. Soaps, alcohol and glass are not allowed near or in the pool. Swimsuits are required and no pets are allowed around or in the pool.
Baumgartner "Site 100" is a large group site just outside of the campground gates along the South Fork Boise River that can be reserved for $100 per night on recreation.gov under Baumgartner Campground Site 100. It is a large camping area with 9 sites, semi-primitive camping areas with gravel/native material for the spurs and sites, picnic tables, fire rings, and utility tables at each site. There is a large, covered picnic area with grills, group fire ring, 2 vault toilets, and potable water to fill water bottles available.

General Information
The campsite is located 12 miles east of Featherville.
UTVs, ATVs, and dirt bikes cannot be ridden into the campground. They may be trailered in and out only.
Generally mid-May until September 30th but is also seasonally dependent.
Baumgartner is generally open from Memorial weekend until the end of September but can be seasonally dependent. Call the Fairfield Ranger District for specific opening dates.
Pets must be leashed at all times in the campground. All camp fires must be attended. OHVs are not allowed on the roads within the campground. The pool is drained and cleaned at night and no soaps, alcohol or glass are allowed near or in the pool. Swimsuits are required and no pets are allowed around or in the pool.
Overnight Use:
Single Site: $10 per night
Double Site: $20 per night
Group Site: $40 per night
$10.00 per night fee for a single unit, $20.00 per night fee for a double unit, and $40.00 per night fee for the group site.

Day Use Parking is available on-site for the hot spring pool. Overflow and walk-in traffic parking is available to the west of the campground entrance just as you cross over the S Fork Boise River bridge.
