Firefighters are making steady progress today toward containment of the Crazy Horse fire.  Crews will continue to construct fire containment line on the north portion of the fire inside and adjacent to the Mission Mountains Wilderness.  With support from water dropping helicopters and fire engines, firefighters will continue to mop up hot spots and secure the fire perimeter.   Structure protection and contingency planning remains in place.

The lightning-caused Crazy Horse Fire began on August 10th, 2003.  Currently, there are 582 personnel assigned to the incident.  Cooperating agencies: Montana Department of Natural Resources, Missoula County, Condon Fire Department, Bureau of Land Management, Bureau of Indian Affairs, and National Park Service.

All evacuation orders and fire activity advisories have been lifted.
