Oak Leaf Trail

The Oak Leaf Trail offers a peaceful 4‑mile loop through tallgrass prairie and gently rolling oak savanna in the Sheyenne National Grassland. Its open vistas, seasonal wildflowers, and wide prairie skies create an inviting setting for hikers, horseback riders, cyclists, and winter users. Along the way, visitors may see grazing cattle, a variety of birdlife, and shaded stretches of woodland. The marked, graveled trail connects to the northeast end of the North Country National Scenic Trail near Jorgen’s Hollow Campground and can be accessed from the East Trailhead, making it an easy and scenic way to experience the prairie landscape.
