Rock Crossing Campground

Rock Crossing Campground is located 2 miles from C.C. Cragin (Blue Ridge) Reservoir. This narrow, winding body of water looks more like a canyon-bound river than a lake. Nestled between forested canyon walls it provides picturesque water recreation in a secluded, wooded setting.

The campground is comprised of 31 individual family sites and two double sites. Each family site can accommodate up to eight people while double sites can accommodate up to 16 people. The facility provides picnic tables, campfire rings, cooking grills, tent pads, bear food storage lockers, drinking water, vault toilets, trash collection, and campground hosts. There are no utility hookups or showers.

The Arizona Game & Fish Department stocks rainbow trout annually and some browns also are present in the reservoir. There’s plenty of sightseeing, wildlife watching, hiking and mountain biking available here in these canyon-carved uplands. If just talking about all this activity makes you want to kick back and relax with nothing more strenuous to do than watch the squirrels bury pine seeds, then this forested area is probably just the place for you.

This campground does not have facilities for large groups or group activities. If one campsite cannot accommodate your group (eight at a single site, 16 at a double site), please visit www.recreation.gov to plan your group camp-out at Elks, Moqui, or Long Valley group campgrounds. Call the Mogollon Rim Ranger District at 928-477-2255 for additional information.
