Gomez Peak Trailhead
Trailhead providing access to the Gomez Peak Trail System is a popular non-motorized use area for hikers or mountain bikers as a day use site. The trails are interconnected throughout the system, with signs placed at major junctions on the trails. The main junctions are numbered and indicated on the map by a blue circle.
Maps posted on the signboards at trail major junctions are oriented to the North. It’s a good idea to carry a compass, since the trails loop back into other trails. The Gomez Peak Trail System can also be used to access a portion of the Continental Divide Trail (CDT) from the Little Walnut area to NM Hwy 15 near the Arrastra.
Please stay within your comfort and experience level while exploring the trails. It’s also a good idea to carry extra food, water, and warm clothing, even while day hiking. Be prepared for weather changes, and make sure accompanying pets are kept under control.
