Recreation Groups

Alturas Lake is the southernmost of the Sawtooth National Recreation Area's big lakes.

The Highway 21 Recreation Complex is located in the northwest corner of the Sawtooth National Recreation Area.

Pettit Lake is nestled at the base of rolling hills and majestic peaks. Swimming, fishing, kayaking and canoeing are wonderful activities for Pettit lake. 

A boat sits on a lake in front of a shoreline lined with conifer trees. Jagged peaks from the Sawtooth Mountains rise into a blue sky with low-lying billowy clouds and wispy clouds at a higher elevation.

Redfish Lake is at the headwaters of the Salmon River, the waters of which flow north to meet the Snake River and continue to the Columbia River and the Pacific Ocean.

The Salmon River Area follows Hwy 75 east along the border of the Cecil D. Andrus – White Clouds Wilderness and the Salmon Challis National Forest.
