Rick Cooksey accepted the position of acting director for the Southern Research Station in Asheville, North Carolina, effective Nov. 19. Cooksey currently serves as director for Forest Health in State, Private, and Tribal Forestry. He fills in behind Dr. Toral Patel-Weynand, permanent station director at the Southern Research Station.

Dr. Toral Patel-Weynand accepted a special assignment to the Research & Development Deputy Area, Washington, D.C., effective Nov. 18. She is currently the permanent station director for the Southern Research Station.
