Senior Leader Program 2025 – Apply soon!

WASHINGTON D.C. The Senior Leader Program is a 12-month program designed for high-potential GS-13 and GS-14 employees who already exhibit leadership qualities and wish to further develop their leadership skills for current and future roles.

In 2025, two program options will be offered:

  1. Residential SLP: This is the traditional program that will include four in-person sessions at locations around the country.

  2. Virtual Option:  2025’s virtual option will be hosted by American University.  

Who: Applicants must meet grade eligibility requirements (GS-13 or GS-14) and have at least one year of full-time, permanent service with the agency by Aug. 30.

Application Period: Aug. 2 – 30

Information Session: SLP staff will deliver two information sessions for applicants to discuss the application process, review application questions and rating criteria, and address questions about the application and rating process.  The two information sessions are optional and will be recorded.

Cost: Tuition costs for the 2025 program will be covered by the agency. Travel and associated costs will be paid by the participant’s home unit.
