Firefighters are making steady progress today toward containment of the Crazy Horse fire.  With the help of heavy equipment, fire line has been completed to the wilderness boundary on the north portion of the fire.  Crews will continue to construct fire line within the Mission Mountain Wilderness.  With support from water dropping helicopters and fire engines, firefighters will continue to mop up hot spots and secure the fire perimeter.  

The lightning-caused Crazy Horse Fire began on August 10th, 2003.  Currently, there are 561 personnel assigned to the incident.  Cooperating agencies: Montana Department of Natural Resources, Missoula County, Condon Fire Department, Bureau of Land Management, Bureau of Indian Affairs, and National Park Service.

All evacuation orders and fire activity advisories have been lifted.
