WASHINGTON, D.C. — This summer marks the 15th annual Feds Feed Families food drive. FFF is a voluntary food drive which encourages all federal employees to give in-kind contributions of food, services, and time to food banks and pantries of their choice. The theme of the 2024 campaign is “Nourishing Our Neighbors Nationwide.” The 2024 campaign focuses on summer giving through Sept. 30 and encourages federal employees to glean through the harvest months and provide donations year-round.

To support this year’s campaign, we ask you to show the Forest Service core values by working alongside our colleagues from across the federal government in nourishing our neighbors nationwide. There are many ways you can participate in FFF:

  • Become a FFF champion to motivate your colleagues to voluntarily participate. Register on the FFF Hub.

  • Find a food pantry or food bank and donate online or in-person. Purchase food at an online grocer and have it delivered directly to a food bank or pantry of your choice. Drop off food donations at your local food bank or pantry. Record your donation on the FFF Hub

  • Volunteer on your own time. Plant-a-Row: harvest and donate produce from neighborhood gardens and trees. Glean at a farm or food bank to harvest produce or help food distribution. Record your donation on the FFF Hub and volunteer time will be converted into pounds.

  • Host or attend a virtual food drive event. Join your colleagues online to learn about food insecurity in your community and how to voluntarily donate to participating local organizations.

  • Combined Federal Campaign. Consider donating to a food bank or food pantry through the CFC September-January giving season. Record your donation on the FFF Hub and the monetary value will be converted into pounds.

The Forest Service has already donated nearly 3,000 pounds of food this summer.  In caring for the land and serving people, please join in the fight to end hunger and food insecurity. We encourage you to learn about hunger in your communities, find a food bank or pantry of your choice, give what you can and remember to record your donations on the FFF Hub this summer and all year long.
