Happy National Forest Week! The celebration officially began today, July 11, and will continue through Sunday, July 17.

This week, we’ll share stories and messages about our incredible National Forest System and invite the public to do the same. We’d love to hear from you and your offices about why national forests and grasslands are important to you.

This year’s National Forest Week theme is “See Your Somewhere.” We’re inviting Americans to get out and visit their national forests responsibly and find their own somewhere. Our national forests offer countless destinations to encounter and we’re continuing to ask all visitors to recreate responsibly.

Throughout the week we’ll be actively using and tracking the #NationalForestWeek hashtag on social media. We invite you to follow along and join the party.

We’re also hosting our annual National Forest Week photo contest. Help share the photo contest and submit your own photos by Sunday, July 17.

We all continue to look to our National Forests as our favorite “somewhere” to explore and reconnect with the natural world. As we celebrate National Forest Week, we appreciate all the efforts of the U.S. Forest Service to ensure these places continue to provide long-lasting benefits for all Americans.

Ways to get involved:

  • Share messaging around National Forest Week and use the hashtag #NationalForestWeek on social media.
  • Submit your photo and help promote the photo contest throughout your network
