WASHINGTON, DC—Procurement and Property Services is thrilled to launch three exciting new tools to streamline communications, improve response time and directly assist with mission partner project development.

Centralized Requisition Support Team

The CRST reviews and assigns special-funded requirements (other than Great American Outdoors Act). By assessing requisitions at a national level, the CRST identifies strategic sourcing opportunities, promotes enhanced collaboration across PPS and facilitates consideration of key equity plan objectives. Advantages:

  • Assign requirements to the most appropriate PPS team.
  • Utilize total PPS workload capacity.
  • Leverage use of existing contracts.
  • Meet Forest Service small business goals.

Mission Partner Engagement Project Team

MPEPT members are experienced procurement professionals, well-versed in acquisition planning, requirements documentation, government estimates and the roster of available contracts. When mission partners need package development assistance, the MPEPT is there to:

  • Recommend efficient, creative procurement solutions.
  • Help produce complete, actionable requisition packages.
  • Identify errors and/or omissions in requirements documents.
  • Participate and advise in acquisition planning.

PPS Communications Portal

This is a central online entry point where mission partners describe needs and request PPS assistance. Using a simple form, requests are routed to an Acquisition Program support officer. The officer reviews each request and provides expert guidance, coordinating across PPS to:

  • Answer mission partner questions.
  • Engage the MPEPT to help develop requirement packages (if/when requested).
  • Complete requisition checklists.
  • Route projects to the Centralized Requisition Support Team.

These three new tools will help PPS better serve our mission partners as we work together to improve the conditions in America’s forests and reduce wildfire risk to our most vulnerable communities and infrastructure.
