Celebrating our great nation this 4th of July
We are privileged to be the beneficiaries of our founding fathers’ valor, whose adoption of the Declaration of Independence 249 years ago epitomizes the public service that we champion today. Indeed, Independence Day reinvigorates our everyday commitment to care for the land and serve the people, a privilege made possible on this anniversary. On this day, I reflect on the fortunate position we are in as stewards of their sacrifice, contributing to the ongoing success of America.
Where we stand today is possible due to the commitment of all of you. Every day, I am inspired by your grit, passion and dedication to this important work. This includes all frontline employees steadfast in serving the public through the holiday, ensuring public safety at all levels. Thank you for your unwavering service to the American people.
Finally, I want to remind everyone, amid all the fun and festivities this day brings with it, to stay safe out there. As we all know, safety applies to us both in and out of uniform, and I want to ensure we get to enjoy our time together with friends and family during this July 4th in the safest possible way.
As we honor this anniversary, let us cherish the freedom that empowers us to serve our communities. In whatever manner you choose to celebrate, may it be in good spirits and great company. Keep in mind that if your plans include sparks, fireworks are strictly prohibited on national forests and grasslands.
Have a safe and happy Independence Day!
